Being creative is simply part of being human. Children create spontaneously without fear or self-criticism but we often lose this ability as we get older. In my art classes I don't just teach skills, I encourage people to reconnect with their creativity and rediscover how it can be both fun and healing. Making art is about so much more than reproducing what we see. It is a way of making sense of our experiences of the world, of communicating what words cannot, about connecting with our intuition and subconscious. 

I currently teach a general art class on Thursday mornings 10.30-12.30, and Thursday evenings 7.15-9.15pm. Students use their own choice of media, whether drawing, acrylics, watercolour or mixed media. 

On Monday mornings 10.30-12.30 I teach 'Art from Intuition' which is more process-orientated, in which students are encouraged to look within for inspiration. I encourage exploration of different media and exercises such as painting to music, vision boards and mark-making in order to broaden their ideas of how to paint or draw, and to reflect not their outer but inner landscapes.
