Cindy Lund Art
Biography
Cindy (Bartley) Lund attended art school in London, then completed a degree in ceramics in NCAD Dublin. She worked as a decorative artist and muralist for 8 years during which time she rediscovered a love for painting. She loves to work with mixed media in layers in order to achieve rich colours and textures. Cindy's murals are found in both private and commercial buildings and has worked with architects and interior designers to create site-specific works, both murals and paintings. Her private work has been purchased by both private and corporate collectors in Ireland and abroad.
Cindy is also a psychotherapist and homeopath and integrates these modalities into her work with clients to provide a holistic and creative healing practice.

Artist's Statement
My work is chiefly an exploration of the creative process itself. Using a range of mixed media I work intuitively, actively inviting my unconscious to guide me. Some of the materials I use come from a background in decorative art and gilding and I enjoy using materials which are traditionally used as surface decoration, to reveal what is hidden. Art for me is primarily about self-exploration and healing. Each painting is a journey in which I discover and engage with my own inner landscapes and I very rarely have a preconceived idea of what will appear.
My inspiration comes from various sources: sacred art and architecture, marks made by both man and nature and the language of symbolism. I love the textures created by time and the elements and the play of light and shadow
